Following is a speech by the Financial Secretary, Mr Henry Tang, at the Quality Tourism Services Scheme Enhancement Launch Ceremony at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre this afternoon (December 19) (English portion):

Today, we witness a significant milestone in Hong Kong's service standards. The Quality Tourism Services Scheme Enhancement will not only offer visitors better services and protection but also reinforce Hong Kong's international image and reputation for quality services. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government fully supports the efforts of the Tourism Board to enhance the Scheme. We earnestly hope our tourism industry partners will actively participate in the scheme in order to make Hong Kong an even more attractive destination for all tourists. Thank you very much.
