Release of results of the Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers

    The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) today (May 7) posted to candidates their results notices of the February 2007 Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers (LPAT).

     A total of 1,836 candidates sat for the English papers while 2,209 sat for the Putonghua (PTH) papers.

     The results of the February 2007 LPAT are as follows:

     HKEAA has mailed to candidates the results notices by post today, and these are expected to reach candidates tomorrow (May 8).  Those who do not receive the results by Wednesday (May 9) should contact HKEAA on 2239 2771.

     The Assessment Reports, which provide the chief examiners' observations on candidates' performance including their strengths and areas for improvement, will be released in late June through the websites of HKEAA (http://www.hkeaa.edu.hk) and EMB (http://www.emb.gov.hk) for the reference of candidates, schools and teacher education institutes.  The question papers, including listening test CDs, suggested answers and Assessment Reports will also be available for sale in late June.

     Applications for rechecking of results will be accepted within seven days after the release of results, i.e. from May 8 to 15.  Candidates will be informed individually of their appeals results by May 31.

     As for the English language/PTH teachers who cannot meet the LPR by the deadline of August 31 and intend to resume teaching the language subject in the future, they can still do so by attaining the LPR through exemption and/or assessment. The coming LPAT will be held in February 2008. Details of the assessment will be made available through circular memorandum in the 2007-08 school year.
