The Labour Department will hold a job fair at Southorn Stadium in Wan Chai on January 12 (Wednesday).
A total of 40 organisations will participate in the job fair, mainly coming from the catering, retail and property management industries, and offering a total of over 2,600 vacancies. These organisations will set up counters and conduct recruitment on the spot.
The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions including shop assistants, property assistants, sales, customer service attendants, dish washers, ramp services agents, cashiers, waiters and waitresses, kitchen assistants, security guards, technicians, supervisors and managers. Job seekers who want further details about the vacancies may visit the department's website on Interactive Employment Service (www.jobs.gov.hk).
About 74% of the vacancies offered are for full-time jobs. The majority of vacancies offer a monthly salary ranging from $6,000 to $10,000. Almost all of these vacancies require Secondary Five educational level or below. About 63% of them are open to job seekers without relevant experience.
Job seekers may submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will also conduct registration for job seekers at the venue.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at Southorn Stadium, 1/F, 111 Johnston Road, Wan Chai (MTR Wan Chai Station Exit A3). Admission is free.
