Tripartite meeting on infectious diseases to be held in HK

     About 60 leading medical and public health officials and professionals from Hong Kong, Guangdong and Macao will attend the Tenth Tripartite Meeting on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases, on January 11 and 12 in Hong Kong.

     During the two-day meeting, participants from the three places will review collaboration in the surveillance, prevention and control of infectious diseases as well as the notification system.

     They will also conduct comprehensive and in-depth discussions and share experience in dealing with communicable diseases, particularly dengue fever and other mosquito-borne diseases, the prevention and control of influenza, the current situation concerning enterovirus infection, the communicable disease information system and work on the elimination of measles.

     Led by the Director of Health, Dr P Y Lam, the Hong Kong SAR delegation will comprise representatives from the Department of Health, the Hospital Authority and the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department.

     The visiting delegations will be led by the Associate Director of Health Department of Guangdong Province, Mr Huang Fei, and the Director of the Health Bureau of Macao, Dr Lei Chin-ion.
