Police appeal to the public for information on a suspected baby body found case in Sham Shui Po this afternoon (January 10).
About 6.05pm, Police received a report that a suspected baby body was found inside a plastic bag beside a rubbish bin outside 13 Tong Yam Street.
Police officers sped to the scene and located the suspected baby body inside the plastic bag. Initial examination revealed that the umbilical cord and placenta were attached to the suspected baby body while the gender and its gestational age could not be ascertained at this stage.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted later.
Investigations by District Investigation Team of Sham Shui Po are underway.
Police appeal to the next-of-kin of the baby and members of the public who may have information to offer to contact the investigating officers on 2360 7200.
