Force deeply grieved by the death of Sergeant

     The Commissioner of Police, Mr Tsang Wai-hung, was deeply saddened by the death of Sergeant, Mr Fung Kwok-ho, while on duty today (January 11) and extended condolences to Mr Fung’s family.

     Sergeant Fung was carrying out rural patrol duties along Maclehose Trial in Ma On Shan Country Park in the afternoon. At about 2.45pm, he fell unconscious near Gilwell Campsite and was airlifted to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital for medical treatment. He was later certified dead at 3.58pm.
 
     The Force Welfare Services Group has been in touch with Mr Fung's family and would make every effort to help his family during this time of sadness.

     Mr Fung, aged 41, joined the Force in 1991. He was attached to the Patrol Subunit of Shatin District. He was survived by two children.
