EPD: Thirty one convictions in December

Thirty one convictions were recorded last month (December) for breaches of legislation enforced by the Environmental Protection Department.
Seven of the convictions were under the Air Pollution Control Ordinance, three under the Noise Control Ordinance, 15 under the Waste Disposal Ordinance and six under the Water Pollution Control Ordinance.
The heaviest fine in December was $20,000, assessed against a company that discharged waste or polluting matter into the water control zone.
