The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
Regarding a female Orthopaedics and Traumatology rehabilitation ward at Tuen Mun Hospital, in which some patients have been confirmed with Noroviral infection, a hospital spokesperson announced the following update today (January 17):
One more 67-year-old patient in the ward has presented with diarrhoea and vomiting symptoms. Appropriate tests have been arranged and the test results are pending. She is being treated under isolation and in stable condition.
Admission to the ward has been suspended. Restricted visiting conditions and discharge from the ward have been imposed. Infection control measures have already been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are under close monitoring.
The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
