Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Kwun Tong this afternoon (January 17) in which a 56-year-old man was killed.
About 5.20pm, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by the 56-year-old man was travelling along Lei Yue Mun Road towards Kwun Tong Bypass. When approaching a slip road of Kwun Tong Bypass, the MGV reportedly lost control and hit the divider. The 56-year-old driver and a 60-year-old male passenger were found collapsed on the road.
The driver and the passenger sustained head injuries and neck injuries respectively and were rushed to United Christian Hospital for medical treatment. The driver was later certified dead at 5.52pm.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.
