Appointment of new Hospital Chief Executive (with photo)

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The Hospital Authority (HA) today (January 19) announced the appointment of Hospital Chief Executive (HCE) of Kwong Wah Hospital and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals' (TWGHs) Wong Tai Sin Hospital.

     Chief Executive of the HA, Dr Leung Pak-yin, said, "After a competitive selection process, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Nelson Wat Ming-sun as HCE of Kwong Wah Hospital and TWGHs Wong Tai Sin Hospital. He will assume duty on February 7, 2011."

     Dr Nelson Wat Ming-sun is currently the HCE of TWGHs Fung Yiu King Hospital, MacLehose Medical Rehabilitation Centre and Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital as well as the Cluster Director of Patient Relations and Corporate Affairs in Hong Kong West Cluster.  He is a physician by background.  Prior to his current position, he worked as a Consultant physician in the Department of Medicine at Queen Mary Hospital.

     Dr Leung Pak-yin wishes Dr Nelson Wat Ming-sun every success in taking up the new challenge.  On behalf of the HA, Dr Leung Pak-yin also wishes to express his deepest gratitude and appreciation to Dr Lawrence Tang Chang-hung, current HCE of Kwong Wah Hospital and TWGHs Wong Tai Sin Hospital for his distinctive contributions in public healthcare services in the past years.
