Assistance provided to Hong Kong victims in traffic accident in Jiangxi

     Regarding a traffic accident in which three Hong Kong residents died and two others were injured in Sanqingshan, Jiangxi, yesterday (February 24), the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong (GDETO) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region sent two Immigration staff to Jiangxi this morning (February 25) to offer practical assistance.

     Upon learning of the incident, the Immigration Division of GDETO immediately contacted relevant Mainland authorities and also the family
members of the concerned Hong Kong residents.  Initial information indicated that three Hong Kong residents, two females and one
male, died and two men were injured in the accident. The injured were sent to hospitals for treatment.

     GDETO will continue to follow up the incident and maintain contact with the family members of the concerned Hong Kong residents to render practical assistance.
