A spokesperson for Castle Peak Hospital (CPH) made the following announcement today (February 28):
Four male patients (aged 20 to 42) in a forensic rehabilitation ward have presented with flu symptoms since February 27. Appropriate viral tests were arranged for the patients and their test results were positive for Human Swine Influenza. The patients have been transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment under isolation and are in stable condition.
Admission to the ward has been suspended and restricted visiting to the ward has been imposed. Infection control measures have been stepped up. All other patients in the ward concerned are under close surveillance.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
