Due to the evolving situation at the Fukushima nuclear facility and disruptions to transport, power and other infrastructure in Tokyo, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government advises Hong Kong residents currently in Tokyo to consider returning to Hong Kong or moving to the south of Japan.
Two additional flights have been arranged to depart Tokyo (Narita) this evening (March 18) to facilitate the return of Hong Kong residents:

In view of the traffic situation, residents taking the above flights should arrive at the following assembly point at least 6.5 hours before the flight departure time. Residents may also make their own arrangements to travel to the airport direct.
A helpdesk will be set up at Keio Plaza Hotel (Shinjuku, Tokyo) by the HKSAR Government support team to provide airport transfer and other assistance to Hong Kong residents wishing to take the additional flights.

The Security Bureau will continue to closely monitor the situation and issue updates concerning the Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) through the media and the OTA webpage www.sb.gov.hk/eng/ota .
Residents outside Hong Kong who need assistance may call the 24-hour hotline of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the Immigration Department at (852)1868. The Chinese Embassy in Japan has set up a hotline (81-3-34033064) to render assistance to Chinese citizens including Hong Kong residents.
