The opening hours of all museums (except the Hong Kong Space Museum) under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), including the Hong Kong Film Archive and the two heritage centres, will be revised from October 1.
Also from October 1, the weekly closing day of the Hong Kong Film Archive will be changed to Tuesday instead of Thursday, while that of the museums and heritage centres will remain unchanged. However, all museums will align the practice of staying open when their closing days fall on public holidays, except for the first two days of the Chinese New year.
The new opening hours of the LCSD museums are as follows:
Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Museum of History, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum and Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre:
Weekdays : 10am - 6pm
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays : 10am - 7pm
Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence, Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery cum Heritage Trail Visitors Centre and Sheung Yiu Folk Museum:
Daily : 10am - 6pm (March - September)
Daily : 10am - 5pm (October - February)
Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, Sam Tung Uk Museum, Fireboat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery, Hong Kong Railway Museum, Law Uk Folk Museum and Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum:
Daily : 10am - 6pm
Hong Kong Science Museum:
Weekdays : 10am - 7pm
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays : 10am - 9pm
Hong Kong Film Archive:
Daily : 10am - 8pm
Hong Kong Space Museum:
Weekdays : 1pm - 9pm
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays : 10am - 9pm
