The Nomination Exercise for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) has entered the last four weeks of electioneering. To enable voters to learn more about the candidates, a forum will be held for candidates to present their election platforms and to answer questions from voters. Twenty-five candidates standing for nomination will participate. Interested parties are welcome to attend.
The candidate forum will be held from 10am to 6.30pm this Saturday (September 14) at Mong Kok Community Hall, L2, Mong Kok Complex, 557 Shanghai Street, Mong Kok. Candidate forum sessions for the 10 arts interests (Arts Administration, Arts Criticism, Arts Education, Dance, Drama, Film Arts, Literary Arts, Music, Visual Arts and Chinese Opera (Xiqu)) will be held as follows:
10am - 10.40am Dance
10.45am - 11.25am Arts Education
11.30am - 12 noon Film Arts
12.05pm - 1pm Drama
2.05pm - 2.35pm Arts Criticism
2.40pm - 3.10pm Literary Arts
3.15pm - 3.55pm Arts Administration
4pm - 4.55pm Music
5pm - 5.30pm Chinese Opera (Xiqu)
5.35pm - 6.30pm Visual Arts
The programme for each session of the respective arts interests will include: (1) presentation of candidate platform; (2) answering questions from the floor; and (3) debate among the candidates of the respective arts interests. Each candidate will have a maximum of five minutes for candidate platform presentation, and three minutes for each of the remaining two segments.

Polling is scheduled for October 6 to 7, 2013. Cross-arts interest voting will continue to be adopted this year. Voters from the 10 arts interests may cast votes for candidates standing for nomination in all of the 10 arts interests. A list of the nominated representatives will be submitted to the Chief Executive for consideration of appointment to the HKADC for the next term beginning January 1, 2014.
