Wounding in Sham Shui Po reclassified as murder

     Police today (October 16) reclassified a wounding case in Sham Shui Po on October 9 as murder.
 
     At about 9.15pm on that day, Police received a report that an injured man was found on Kweilin Street in Sham Shui Po. Police officers sped to the scene and located the 47-year-old man who sustained multiple injuries to his head and legs. He was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in semi-conscious state.
 
     After initial investigations, Police arrested a 42-year-old man in Sham Shui Po for wounding on October 12. He was holding charged with one count of wounding and appeared before Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts on October 14.
 
     The injured man was certified dead at 2.25pm today. Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.
 
     Active investigations by the Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West are underway.
