Contractor fined for violation of safety legislation

Kuen Kee Construction Co Ltd was fined $65,000 at Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts today (February 17) for violation of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on February 13, 2012, in Tseung Kwan O. Whilst a worker was engaged in rigging and lifting a precast facade at a building construction site, he was struck to death by the facade when it toppled.
