The Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPCSC), Mr Zhang Dejiang, attended a dinner at Government House hosted by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, this evening (May 17).
Those also invited to the dinner included the Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, Mr Wang Guangya; the Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Mr Zhang Xiaoming; the Deputy Secretary-General of the NPCSC and Chairman of the HKSAR Basic Law Committee under the NPCSC, Mr Li Fei; the Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council, Mr Jiang Zelin; and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, the People’s Bank of China, Guangdong Province and Shenzhen.
Others attending included the Chief Justice of the Court of Final Appeal, Mr Geoffrey Ma Tao-li; the President of the Legislative Council, Mr Jasper Tsang; the Convenor of the Non-official Members of the Executive Council, Mr Lam Woon-kwong; and Principal Officials of the HKSAR Government.
