Police holding charged a 49-year-old man with murder, obstructing Police officers, illegal immigration, possession of a forged Hong Kong identity card and using a forged Hong Kong identity card. A 62-year-old woman died in the case.
Police received a report from a man on May 3 that he had lost contact with his 62-year-old mother.
Officers went to a building on 132 Cheung Sha Wan Road in Sham Shui Po for investigation on May 14 and found a 49-year-old Chinese man escaping from a unit through a window. He was subdued by officers. Some bloodstains and signs of cleaning were found in the unit. Officers also seized a forged other’s Hong Kong identity card. Investigation revealed that the man also had used a forged identity card to rent the unit and apply for a job.
Chemical examination showed that the bloodstains belonged to the 62-year-old woman. Police reasonably believe that she had been killed.
The 49-year-old man appeared before Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts today (May 25).
Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West is investigating the case and finding the woman’s dead body.
