The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) welcomes the decision by the Hong Kong and Kowloon Life Guards' Union to drop its planned industrial action this Sunday (June 26).
"It is indeed a time for all colleagues to remain steadfast in performing duties to serve the community with professionalism," a spokesman for the LCSD said today (June 24).
The LCSD will continue to maintain close dialogue with staff unions and listen to their views. The department will also press ahead with the implementation of new measures to increase the manpower of lifeguards.
"We look forward to resolving matters together with the union in a rational and pragmatic manner," the spokesman added.
