2016-01-04 The Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong (PPBHK) had become the 47th Participating Authority of the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme with effect from January 1, 2016.

2014-02-27 With effect from 1 April 2014, the Pharmacy and Poisons (Manufacturers Licensing) Committee would impose additional licensing conditions to all licensed manufacturers upon licensed renewal, which includes the reporting of serious adverse drug reactions of the drugs manufactured, documentation of product defect which may impact on the product quality, notification of commencement of recall and submit relevant information, only contracted out QC testing to laboratory (accredited with ISO 17025 or equivalent for the tests to be performed) or licensed GMP manufacturers.
2013-12-10 The Pharmacy and Poisons Board applied for PIC/S membership on 30 August 2013. During the PIC/S Committee meeting on 7-8 October 2013 (in Ottawa, Canada), meeting members nominated the Rapporteur and Co-Rapporteurs in charge of the assessment.
