Following is the transcript of remarks (English portion) at a media session by the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, on arrival at the airport in Beijing this afternoon (April 8):
I am very grateful to the Central Government, the Hong Kong people and members of the Election Committee for giving me this opportunity to serve Hong Kong for another five years and enabling me to stand here in Beijing preparing myself for receiving the instrument of appointment tomorrow from the Premier. I shall be seeing the Premier tomorrow morning and then the President will meet me in the afternoon together with other national leaders. I hope to be able to exchange views with them on my manifesto, particularly in areas of common interest where we are able to complement each other's development and making sure that we develop a further win-win situation for Hong Kong in the coming five years. I'll also take this opportunity to visit the new Olympic sites, meet my old friend, the mayor Mr Wang Qishan, and I will see other new facilities in Beijing as well. I will be making full use of my time in Beijing. Thank you very much.
