The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a Siu Mei and Lo Mei shop in Yuen Long to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.
The Siu Mei and Lo Mei shop, at Shop No.1 (Major Portion), ground floor, Kui Fat Building, 19 Hop Choi Street, was ordered to suspend business from today (April 9) to April 22, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.
"In June last year and January this year, there were two convictions in respect of failing to cover food properly at the said food premises.
"A total fine of $4,000 was levied and 15 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.
He added that there were also two convictions of the same offence regarding the same Siu Mei and Lo Mei shop in January and February last year.
"A total fine of $2,000 was levied and 15 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from July 16 to 22 last year," the spokesman said.
He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, otherwise their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
