The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will organise four fun-filled family carnivals at West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade on four Sunday afternoons (April 15 and 29 and May 13 and 27). Admission is free.
The carnivals will have a variety of programmes including bouncing games, games stalls, a cycling performance, variety show and clown performance. There will also be a car show on May 13.
Free shuttle bus services between Kowloon Park (Austin Road entrance) and West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade will be arranged on the four Sundays. Buses will depart from Kowloon Park to West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade every 15 minutes from 12.30pm to 4pm. They will depart from West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade to Kowloon Park at 15-minute intervals from 12.45pm to 5.30pm.

At the southern tip of West Kowloon, the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade was open to the public in September, 2005. The recently completed enhancement works added more facilities to the venue so that a more vibrant and attractive open space along the West Kowloon waterfront is provided.
The enhancement works included extending by 300 metres the existing timber boardwalk installed with lantern lighting, and the cycling track northwards by 800 metres to the New Yau Ma Tei Typhoon Shelter. The timber boardwalk is 700 metres long; the cycling track 1500 metres. In addition, a 300-metre walking trail is provided at the northern end of the timber boardwalk. This extends the waterfront promenade closer to the bus stops near the Kowloon portal of the Western Harbour Crossing and the Kowloon Station of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) to enhance accessibility to the feeder transport services.
A mini cycling ground is built in the centre of the promenade. With the improved and newly-added cycling facilities, the department has arranged bicycle rental facilities. A new lawn and landscape area have been created along the extended portion of the boardwalk and cycling track. The existing children's playground is enlarged with more facilities. Other supporting facilities such as pergolas, toilets, seating benches and directional signs are added and there will also be a light refreshment restaurant. The department is currently arranging for tendering of the light refreshment restaurant at the promenade for provision of catering services to the visitors.
Adopting an environmentally friendly design, the promenade is a refreshing space created in the most cost-effective and sustainable way. Old containers have been refurbished and converted to toilets and a management office; abandoned seating benches have been fixed and reused; the boardwalk has been paved with low-cost, unfinished timber boards; and demolition debris has been recycled for use as concrete.
The promenade is open from 6am to 11pm daily. West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade has two entrances, the eastern one at the junction of Austin Road West and Nga Cheung Road, Tsim Sha Tsui and the western one at the Kowloon-side exit of Western Harbour Crossing. It is equipped with a metered carpark which provides 30 private car parking spaces and two coach parking spaces at the eastern entrance of the promenade.
People can get to there by taking KMB No. 8 which runs between Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier and Kowloon MTR Station or green mini-bus No. 77M running between Tsim Sha Tsui East and Kowloon MTR Station which will stop in Austin Road West near the access road leading to the promenade's eastern entrance. It then takes about 10 minutes' walk to arrive at the promenade.
Visitors can also take the MTR to Kowloon Station from where it is a five minutes' walk to the promenade's western entrance. There is a public transport interchange near Kowloon MTR Station for Bus No. 8, 11, 203E, 215X, 207A and 281A, and green mini-bus No. 26, 74 and 77M. Visitors can also walk for about five minutes to arrive at the western entrance. Alternatively, visitors can also take the cross harbour tunnel buses of route numbers 904, 905, 914, 934, 935, 948 968, 970 etc. to alight at the bus stops at Western Harbour Crossing Toll Plaza and walk for about five minutes to get to the promenade.
