Hospital Authority (HA) today (April 28, 2007) announces its Outstanding Staff and Teams Award 2007. Six staff members and five teams of the HA from different disciplines of public hospitals and HA Head Office are awarded (the list of awardees is appended). Their dedication and outstanding performance were highly commended for delivery of quality patient-centred care and enhancing team spirit and effectiveness of the organisation.
For the 14th year running this year, Chairman of HA's Human Resources Committee, Dr Anthony Ho, said, "Since its introduction in 1993, Hospital Authority has been organising this Award yearly as corporate-wide staff recognition program to recognise the significant contributions made by staff members. The objectives of the award are to honour and reward staff members for outstanding performance or exemplary behaviour and to motivate staff to perform and behave in an exemplary way to achieve the goals of Hospital Authority."
The Selection Panel was chaired by Dr Anthony Ho, and comprising HA's Chief Executive Mr Shane Solomon; Kowloon East Cluster Chief Executive Dr Luk Chi-chung; HA's Head of Human Resources, Mr David Rossiter; and a past award winner, Dr Barbara Lam, Cluster Director (Patient Services Communication)/ Consultant (Paediatrics), Hong Kong West Cluster/Queen Mary Hospital. Dr Ho said that the awardees were selected from among 73 nominations from various divisions of public hospitals and HA Head Office.

Award Presentation Ceremony of the Outstanding Staff and Teams Award 2007 will be held at the closing ceremony of HA Convention on May 8, 2007.
