| The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mrs Rita Lau, together with a Hong Kong film industry delegation, conducted a number of events to promote Hong Kong films is in Cannes, France, on May 16 (Cannes time).
Mrs Lau had meetings with the Mayor of Cannes Bernard Brochant and the Deputy Director General of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television Yuan Tong Nan respectively, led the delegation to meet the media, and officiated at the "China Night: Celebration of 100 Years of Hong Kong Cinema" reception in Cannes. The reception, bringing together key players of the Hong Kong and overseas film industries, is one of the highlights of the promotional activities at the Festival de Cannes to showcase the achievements of Hong Kong film production.
