Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan this afternoon (January 10) in which a 58-year-old woman died.
At 1.06pm, a mud truck driven by a 53-year-old man was travelling along Cheung Shun Street towards Mong Kok. When approaching the junction with Cheung Lai Street, it reportedly hit the 58-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining multiple injuries, the woman was rushed to Caritas Medical Centre where she was certified dead at 1.36pm.
The truck driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is still being detained for further enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West, are under way.
