The Government announced today (January 13) that Mrs Lesley Wong Chui Yue-chue, Deputy Director of Accounting Services, will succeed Mr Li Kwok-tso as Director of Accounting Services with effect from January 20, 2011. Mr Li will take pre-retirement leave on the same day after almost 34 years of service with the Government.
Commenting on Mrs Wong's appointment, the Secretary for the Civil Service, Miss Denise Yue, said, "Mrs Wong has extensive professional knowledge and experience in treasury work as well as proven administrative and leadership skills. I am confident that she will be able to lead the Treasury to meet the challenges ahead and continue to deliver quality service to the community."
On the retirement of Mr Li, Miss Yue said, "Mr Li has served with zeal and commitment in the civil service throughout the years and has devoted sustained efforts to enhancing the professional services of the Treasury. His leadership in implementing various financial management systems to enhance the effective management of public finance is commendable. We sincerely wish him a happy retirement."

Mr Li Kwok-tso

Aged 59, Mr Li joined the Government as a Treasury Accountant in March 1977. He was promoted to Senior Treasury Accountant in June 1980, to Chief Treasury Accountant in July 1985, to Assistant Director of Accounting Services in September 1992 and to Deputy Director of Accounting Services in May 2004. He has been the Director of Accounting Services since January 2009.
Mrs Lesley Wong Chui Yue-chue

Aged 55, Mrs Wong joined the Government as an Accounting Officer II in September 1975. She was appointed as a Treasury Accountant in September 1978. She was promoted to Senior Treasury Accountant in April 1983, to Chief Treasury Accountant in April 1989 and to Assistant Director of Accounting Services in July 1995. She has been the Deputy Director of Accounting Services since January 2009.
