The Government today (October 14) announced the appointment of three new members and the re-appointment of eight members to the Appeal Board panel, established under section 14 of the Consumer Goods Safety Ordinance for a term of two years, with effect from next Thursday (October 20). The new members are Dr Chung Chi-yung, Mr Brian Zee Yan-man and Mr Jerome Wong Ching-long.

Any person who is aggrieved by enforcement decisions or actions taken by the Commissioner of Customs and Excise under the Consumer Goods Safety Ordinance may appeal to the Appeal Board. The Board will then be convened to hear the appeal. It shall consist of the chairman or deputy chairman of the panel, who shall be the chairman of the Board, and one representative from each of the member categories of the panel.
