Registration of claims for ex-gratia allowance to mariculturists of three fish culture zones

     The Government has called on mariculturists of the Cheung Sha Wan, Ma Wan and Sok Kwu Wan Fish Culture Zones whose business environment would be affected by the planned marine works projects at the western waters of Hong Kong to register for claims for a one-off special ex-gratia allowance.

     The ex-gratia allowance package was approved by the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council on April 27, 2012. An Inter-departmental Working Group (IWG) comprising representatives from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, the Lands Department, the Home Affairs Department and relevant works departments was set up in August to follow up on the arrangements. The mariculturists concerned have been informed individually of the registration arrangements, which are set out below:
