The spokesperson for the Hospital Authority (HA) issued the following statement in response to the Investigation Report on a sentinel event announced by Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) today (August 2):
The HA Head Office has received the Investigation Report from PMH and accepted the findings and recommendations in the Report. HA will request PMH to implement the recommendations as early as possible to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents.
HA expressed its sadness about the passing away of the patient and also extended apologies and condolences to the family. The hospital will continue to provide the necessary support and assistance to the family.
