Proprietor fined for violation of safety rules

     Chuen Tat Machinery Rental Company Limited was fined $60,000 at Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts today (March 3) for violation of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance. The prosecutions were launched by the Labour Department.

     The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on July 29 last year in Sung Wong Toi Road, Kowloon, in which a worker was struck and run over by a lorry in a waste recycling depot while he was fixing a vehicle weighing scale.
