The Hong Kong ICT Awards (HKICTA) 2015 opened for enrolment today (November 3). Innovative ICT products, applications and solutions developed in Hong Kong are invited to take part.
In its ninth edition, HKICTA aims at recognising outstanding ICT products, solutions and applications, thereby encouraging local ICT talents and enterprises in their continuous pursuit of innovation and excellence.
Steered by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, the HKICTA is organised by 10 local industry associations and professional bodies selected through a competitive exercise.
The Government Chief Information Officer and Chairman of the Steering Committee, Mr Daniel Lai, said, "In line with the Government's policy to leverage technologies to develop Hong Kong into a smarter city, a new award category, the Best Smart Hong Kong Award, has been introduced this year.
"Through establishing the Best Smart Hong Kong Award, we aim to encourage the ICT industry to develop innovative applications and solutions with the use of public sector information and emerging technologies, such as the Internet of Things and big data analytics, so as to enhance quality of living for the public and make Hong Kong a 'smarter' city."

There will be one Grand Award in each category. A Grand Adjudication Panel led by Professor Way Kuo, President of City University of Hong Kong, will select the Award of the Year from the 10 Grand Awards. Enrolment in the HKICTA 2015 will close on January 16, 2015.
