Employer fined for violation of safety legislation

Treasure Green Limited was fined $32,000 at Tsuen Wan Magistrates' Courts today (June 10) for violation of the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on July 23, 2011 at a catchwater slope in Tsuen Wan. A female worker, while engaged in weeding work, fell and rolled down the catchwater slope and sustained fatal head injuries.
