About 3 200 vacancies on offer at Tuen Mun Job Fair

     The Labour Department will hold a large-scale three-day job fair at Tuen Mun Town Hall from August 17 to 19. The first day of the recruitment event will focus on vacancies in the retail industry, while vacancies in catering, property management, transport and other industries will be offered on August 18 and 19. Twenty participating organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment each day.

     A total of 60 organisations, offering about 3 200 vacancies, will participate in the fair. The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as clerk, receptionist, beauty consultant, care worker, waiter/waitress, shop sales worker, kitchen staff, technician, security guard, driver, warehouse assistant and cleaner. Job seekers can find more information on the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).

     Around 81 per cent of the vacancies are for full-time jobs. Most vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $8,000 to $16,000. About 98 per cent of the vacancies require a Secondary Six education level or below. Around 65 per cent are open to job seekers who may lack relevant experience, and many vacancies are suitable for young people and secondary school graduates.

     Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. They can also register for employment services at the Labour Department's counter.

     The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at the Exhibition Gallery, 1/F, Tuen Mun Town Hall, 3 Tuen Hi Road, Tuen Mun. Admission is free.
