Two of the six storeys of the new campus, the Grove, in Ap Lei Chau will open in late October. The campus will eventually provide 580 Grade 1 to 8 places when fully occupied, and will have a seventh floor designed by a student. THS' high school division at the Garden in the vicinity is in its first year of operation this year and will provide about 150 Grade 9 to 12 school places. Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten operations will continue at the Kennedy Town campus, the Head of School, Dr Jadis Blurton, said.
According to Dr Blurton, THS adheres to the American curriculum and emphasises customised, integrated and all-inclusive programmes that aim to unlock the best in every child. THS has been operating as an international primary school in Hong Kong for eight years and has won local and international awards. Having recently been awarded a vacant school site by the government, it is renovating the Grove to reflect 21st century learning styles.
She added, “There are many international executives working here and their children need quality schools to go to, creating a huge demand for international school places. THS follows a unique vision that distinguishes us from other international schools here. We have been in Hong Kong offering primary school education for eight years with exceptional success. I believe that THS adds another quality education choice for parents to consider for their children.”
Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Dr Jimmy Chiang said, “One of the key factors when senior executives of multinationals consider whether to set up a presence in a city is good, reliable education for their children and those of their staff. I am confident that THS, with its very good track record, will be successful in its expansion in Hong Kong.”
