HKSARG responds to US report

     In response to media enquiries on a report issued by the US Congressional-Executive Commission on China, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (HKSARG) today (October 7) gave the following response:

     Since the return to the Motherland, the HKSAR has been exercising a high degree of autonomy and "Hong Kong people administering Hong Kong" in accordance with the Basic Law. This demonstrates the successful implementation of the "one country, two systems" principle, which is widely recognised by the international communities.

     Foreign legislatures should not interfere in any form in the internal affairs of Hong Kong.
