Appointment of Non-Executive Director of SFC

     The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, under the authority delegated by the Chief Executive, has re-appointed Dr Kelvin Wong Tin-yau as a Non-Executive Director of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC). The re-appointment will take effect from October 20, 2016, for a term of two years.

     Dr Wong is an Executive Director and a Deputy Managing Director of COSCO Pacific Ltd.

     Announcing the appointment today (October 19), a Government spokesman said, "Dr Wong has provided valuable advice and guidance to the SFC during his tenure. We look forward to his continued support for the work of the SFC."

     The SFC is chaired by Mr Carlson Tong. Other serving Non-Executive Directors are Mr Albert Au Siu-cheung, Professor Leonard Cheng Kwok-hon, Mr Lester Garson Huang, Ms Teresa Ko Yuk-yin, Ms Mary Ma Xuezheng and Dr William Wong Ming-fung.
