Over 250 orchestras and bands to participate in Hong Kong Youth Music Interflows

Eighty-six orchestras will take part in the six classes of the Chinese Orchestra Contest at the Auditorium of the Yuen Long Theatre from November 22 to 24.
Forty-five orchestras will take part in the Symphony Orchestra Contest, with a total of four sessions to be held at the Auditorium of Sha Tin Town Hall on November 29 and 30.
Eighty-four bands will compete in the six classes of the Symphonic Band Contest at the Arena of Queen Elizabeth Stadium from December 6 to 10. The Gold Award winners of each class will compete for Grand Champion titles in the primary and secondary school categories at the Winners' Final on December 10. Under the baton of Professor of Music and Director of Bands of the University of Texas at El Paso, the US, Dr Bradley Genevro, the Hong Kong Youth Symphonic Band will perform with the Principal Clarinet of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Fong Hiu-kai, in the Final.
Forty-three orchestras will participate in the String Orchestra Contest, with a total of four sessions to be held at the Concert Hall of Hong Kong City Hall on December 20 and 21.
Tickets for the Chinese Orchestra Contest are now available at URBTIX (www.urbtix.hk), those for the Symphony and String Orchestra Contests will be available from October 29 onwards, and those for the Symphonic Band Contest will be available from November 6.
