Accident Bulletin on Robinson R22 Beta II helicopter released

In accordance with the Hong Kong Civil Aviation (Investigation of Accidents) Regulations (Chapter 448B), the Inspector of Accidents of the Civil Aviation Department (CAD) today (November 22) released Accident Bulletin 3/2016 in relation to the accident involving a Robinson R22 Beta II helicopter (registration mark B-HJU) operated by the Hong Kong Aviation Club that rolled over during an attempt to lift off from the ground at Shek Kong Airfield, Yuen Long, New Territories, on October 23, 2016.

A spokesperson for the CAD said that the bulletin contains information relating to the accident as determined up to the time of issue, and must be regarded as tentative.

"The investigation team will continue with the investigation and will conduct more in-depth analysis of the relevant data and information collected and study all relevant information in order to determine the circumstances and causes relating to the accident," the spokesperson said.
