The programme, entitled "Walk the Hong Kong Spirit", was formally launched at Lion Rock – a popular Hong Kong hiking location and a famous landmark - on January 21, 2017.
The Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Godfrey Leung, together with the Belgian Consul General, Ms Michèle Deneffe, and the President of the Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association, Mr Chan Siu-hung, spoke of their strong support for the programme at the launch ceremony.
During the launch event, well-known Hong Kong fencing athlete Connie Ho taught the guests a few basic fencing moves with the help of their hiking poles. Accompanying Mr Leung and the guests was a group of enthusiastic hikers of various ages, who also reached the top of Lion Rock.
With the aim of helping Hong Kong's young people explore their potential and broaden their horizons, "Walk the Hong Kong Spirit" is now open for applications.
