Swire Waste Management Limited was fined $50,000 at Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts today (September 7) for violation of the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.

     The case involved a fatal accident that occurred in Tuen Mun on January 6. A worker was fatally trapped between a reversing refuse container trailer and a refuse tipper nearby while assisting in refuse dumping work at a landfill area.
