The Festival started with a screening of "Love Off the Cuff", the third film in the "Love in a Puff" series by director Pang Ho-cheung and producer Subi Liang, and starring popular Hong Kong stars Miriam Yeung and Shawn Yue. The film was introduced by Pang and Liang at its screening on September 5, who then held an audience Q & A session after the screening. Other films to be shown during the festival include "Love in a Puff", "A Simple Life", "Office", "Kung Fu Hustle", "Infernal Affairs" and "Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon". The programme will close with the newly restored "Made in Hong Kong", directed by Fruit Chan 20 years ago.
Speaking at the screening of "Love Off the Cuff" on September 5, the Director-General of London ETO, Ms Priscilla To, said, "Through this film festival, we demonstrate to our friends in Moscow the success and creativity of Hong Kong's film industry which has continued to thrive over the past two decades. Apart from being a centre of trade and business, Hong Kong is also a key arts and cultural hub in Asia. With the unique creativity and vitality of the Hong Kong people, we have developed one of the largest and most dynamic film entertainment industries in the world. The festival will also show audiences the different faces of Hong Kong."
