Shortly after his arrival in London in the morning, Mr Yau visited the Royal College of Art, one of the most historic postgraduate institutions in London specialising in art and design. He had a useful exchange of views on talent nurturing with representatives of the institution.
He then visited the Zaha Hadid Design Gallery, the exclusive showroom exhibiting a variety of iconic product designs and selected architectural models by the late Pritzker Architecture Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid.
In the afternoon, he had dialogues with local stakeholders from various creative sectors at a luncheon on matters relating to business opportunities as well as measures to strengthen the development and collaboration of the industries. He highlighted the close links between Hong Kong and the UK on creative industries and said that creative industries are a strong driving force for the future economic development of Hong Kong.
He also paid a visit to the London College of Fashion of the University of the Arts London and the British Film Institute to learn about vocational training initiatives for fashion designers and filmmaking professionals in the UK.
Mr Yau will conduct the second day of his visit to London today (September 19, London time).
