Mark Leung to host "Getting to Know Jazz" lecture demonstration series

In this four-lecture series, jazz guitarist Mark Leung will give talks while local jazz double bassist Barry Lam will perform as demonstrator (except on October 18). Details are as follows:

Mark Leung is an active jazz guitarist in Hong Kong and Macau. He founded the jazz event "Saturday Jazz" in 2012, which features a weekly jazz mini concert in which he frequently performs. Leung is also an instructor under the Introduction to Popular Music for the Associate Degree programme of Hong Kong Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH).
Barry Lam is a Hong Kong-based jazz double bass player, bass guitarist and music instructor. Lam works with Jazz for Fun HK at jazz promotion events. He has also conducted guided jazz music album appreciation activities for the visually impaired on behalf of welfare organisations. Lam is a columnist for the online platform Music Valley for which he writes articles on jazz appreciation.
All lectures (to be conducted in Cantonese) will be held at 7.30pm at the Lecture Hall of the Hong Kong Space Museum.
