Third phase of "Museum of Art on Wheels" to feature workshops with 10 local artists

Themed "Hong Kong Sign．Hong Kong Signature", the programme will seek out artistic items that are hidden in the community with the participants through the mobile museum and art workshops.
The programme will host art workshops with 10 local artists, including Tang Ying-chi, KaCaMa Design Lab, Tsang Tak-ping, Hanison Lau, Wong Chung-yu and Angryangry. Members of the public are invited to participate and admission is free. Online enrolment is required. A limited quota is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The first two workshops are now open for registration. The first workshop, "When We Meet in 2017", is going to be held tomorrow (October 21) at the Art Square at Salisbury Garden in Tsim Sha Tsui. Local visual artist Tang Ying-chi will do sketching outdoors with participants to record the pedestrians they come across, and the images will be turned into stickers. The activity aims to remind participants to show greater concern for the people and happenings around them.
The second workshop, "A Notebook of Our Community", will be held on November 18 at T·PARK in Tuen Mun. Local art organisation KaCaMa Design Lab will demonstrate how to make a community notebook with handbills collected from different districts of Hong Kong to understand the characteristics and outlooks of various districts and to raise participants' awareness towards their own districts.
In addition, a specially designed education art truck will continue to visit schools and the community during this programme. Participants can explore works by noted calligraphers, fun words found in different parts of the city and distinctive artworks by contemporary artists through fun and interactive computer games.
The programme, which will run until July 2018, is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and organised by the Hong Kong Museum of Art with the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust as the major funder, and co-organised by the Hong Kong Society for Education in Art and Hong Kong Baptist University.
