Hong Kong Customs seizes suspected cocaine and suspected methamphetamine (with photos)

A 32-year-old male passenger arrived in Hong Kong from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates yesterday morning. Upon examination of his check-in baggage, Customs officers found suspected cocaine from a metal can inside the baggage. The passenger was then arrested.
In another development, Customs officers stationed at Lo Wu Control Point intercepted an incoming passenger yesterday afternoon and found suspected methamphetamine in his possession. The 29-year-old man was then arrested.
The two cases are now under investigation.
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $5 million and life imprisonment.
