Community thematic carnival "The Sheung Shui Legend" to be held in Sheung Shui this Sunday (with photo)

Artist Woo Ying-man will serve as the emcee of the carnival. Different programmes featuring the history of Sheung Shui will be presented. Highlights will include the screening of three mini-movies: "Fading Marketplaces" tells of the story of Shek Wu Hui's development, "Something Special in Shek Wu Hui" talks about the history of Sheung Shui, and "Interesting Check-in Points in Sheung Shui" reveals little-known stories behind Sheung Shui's local stores. In addition, a drama production entitled "The Legend of Fung Kai" and a "Stories About Shek Wu Hui" sharing session hosted by Sheung Shui residents will be held. Members of the public may also join guided tours to learn about the past of Shek Wu Hui.
Performances infusing elements of wuxia and comics will be showcased in the carnival. Apart from tai chi, bajiquan and rope skipping performances, there will also be different styles of dance performances such as modern dance, Chinese dance and a crossover of breakdance and juggling as well as a variety of music programmes including Chinese instrumental music, leaf whistling music, folk songs, ocarina and harmonica performances.
Workshops on sachet production, pressed flowers, handmade bookmarks, leaf whistling and herb planting will also be held, and roving artists will walk around and entertain carnival-goers.
