SFST to visit Switzerland

     The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr James Lau, will leave for Zurich, Switzerland, in the early hours on January 22 to accompany the Chief Executive to visit Switzerland to foster closer ties between the two places.

     On January 22 and 23 (Switzerland time), Mr Lau will join part of the Chief Executive's visit programme in Zurich, Bern and Basel to meet with senior government officials, members of the business sector and professionals, and to visit financial and technology institutions. On January 24 and 25, he will take part in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, during which he will also meet with leading figures from other economies.

     Mr Lau will return to Hong Kong on January 27. During his absence, the Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr Joseph Chan, will be Acting Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury.
