Employer fined for violation of safety legislation

     ISS EastPoint Properties Limited was fined $20,000 at Shatin Magistrates' Courts today (January 19) for violation of the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.

     The case involved a fatal accident on November 29, 2016, at a housing estate in Ma On Shan. A worker engaged in wiring work was found lying on the ground next to a wooden folding ladder. He was admitted to hospital but passed away later.
